The Sun Tone Harvester is a collaboration between artists Peter Blamey and Vicky Browne curated by Eleanor Scicchitano. The work is an interactive sound installation that harnesses solar energy to produce sound. The installation consists of a sculptural pod and a solar panel ‘table’ containing sound producing solar technology. Sounds change in relation to the amount of available sunlight and participants will interact with the solar panels in order to both create and interfere with sound. The structures themselves, together with the solar technology, both reference and are dictated to by the site and the South Australian climate.

“Use your shadow, leaves or the bars to change the sound. Adjust volume and pitch with the controls. The bars may be hot to touch on a sunny day.”
